I’m devouring a fabulous new report from Melcrum on employee engagement practices from a communication perspective.
Entitled Viral communication in the workplace, there’s a shed load of great material in here, and hints, tips and advice from luminaries like Angela Sinickas, Brad Whitworth from Cisco, my friend Carol Kinsey Goman, Jay Rosen, Gary Grates from Edelman, and a whole swag more.
With case studies from BAA, BT Group, Canon, Cisco, Deloitte, easyJet, Friends Provident, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Sun, and Tate & Lyle you can quickly sort out how to put together or recognise existing peer-to-peer networks within large organisations and put effective communication practices into action.
It looks at all the usual social media ’suspects’, including internal video, stakeholder engagement and how to get past the infamous IT roadblock {grin}.
This is a bottler of a report and I thoroughly recommend you shell out for it!

Disclaimer: I have written for Melcrum in the past, contributing to several of their reports and authoring their How to get started with podcasting in your organisation‘ special report.
I also run workshops for them on Social Media, the next being in Sydney on 29th & 30th October.
However, I don’t receive any financial or other incentive to promote their publications or courses. I am happy to review any publication or workshop from any publisher — .
And I am also interested in working with any organisation — for example, I am writing a report for the Ark Group on Social Media, tentatively entitled ‘Social Media: the new communication landscape that devours dinosaurs’, with a tentative publication date of early 2008.
