…were wildly exaggerated. In fact, I have been helping Mater find a new car after her’s was written off in an accident. She was unhurt, apart from her pride, but the insurance company wrote the car off because, being an older Volvo, the parts and labour would have cost more than the car was worth.
So we traipsed around various car yards, some with sales people more pushy than others (a ‘must not try so hard’ report for one salesman at United Motors’ used car yard on Glen Osmond Road) but in the end kept coming back to Malcolm Kanon at Suzuki on Glen Osmond Road (next door to the Porsche dealership).
I kept hinting at Mater that she should seriously consider a new 911, but she balked at it. Apparently the payout on her aging Volvo wasn’t quite enough to make up the difference…
In the end it turns out that both Mater and I have enjoyed the superb customer service of the EuroCars dealership team in Adelaide.
A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 2002 Peugeot 406 HDi from Michael Silvy at EuroCars on Goodwood Road; on Monday Mater picked up her Suzuki SX4 S demo (just 1,600ks in the clock) from the same team, but at the Suzuki dealership.
We would both like to thank the team at both locations — they served great coffee to us, kept us entertained and amused, were friendly and gave great customer service.
If you are looking for a car, you might want to give them a try. And no, there’s no payola going on here… I was just impressed with their service and thought I was in a position to do something good in return.
Here’s some happy snaps taken with the BetterComms Box Brownie:

Nice case of customer service… rare enough, these days.

All well and good Lee, but they still (along with Mrs BetterComms) still made you buy the Pug rather than the Alfa…eh, eh?
