My younger brother-in-arms-and-soul Paull Young stuns me today (he often does that, the little bugga!).
Here’s why:
I popped out of the Subway on Thursday morning and saw a middle aged suit, slinging a pair of skis, strutting down Broadway. I whipped out my iPhone and grabbed this pic - made so much better by a tourist bus bearing a Chorus Line fresco blurring past at that very moment:
I took this with my phone on the city sidewalk. I pressed a button to upload it directly to Flickr. I tagged it, was asked to add it to a Flickr group, Twittered a link to it, chucked it in a Facebook album and now I’m blogging it.
Media is changing. Media is mobile. Media goes far beyond just words. Content doesn’t live in silos, but flows across a number of social environments. Did anyone of the tools I use enable this alone? Nope. But each element - iPhone, Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, Blog - all helped me share compelling content.
And isn’t all this exciting?
It is, bro, it is! May the both of us never get tired of the excitement!!!
p.s. happy anniversary, bro!
