Steganos Secure Traveller - don't leave home without it

A little while ago I ranted about the lack of support for a secure password application that allowed me to achieve several things in one tool:

  • keep all of my online usernames and passwords secure
  • allow me to access websites and automatically add those usernames and passwords to an application that bypassed the very insecure browser password managers but stored them so that I didn’t have to enter them every time I visited a site
  • allowed me to keep a copy on my much-loved Dell pda

I lamented at the time that no such tool existed.

I think I may have just found it. It’s called Steganos Secure Traveller .

Not only does it meet the three above criteria, but a whole lot more:

  •   Your encrypted tunnel to the Internet
Thanks to 128 Bit SSL encryption, the Steganos VPN fully protects all your activities on the Web.
  •   Surf securely in WLANs
Avoid being eavesdropped by others while surfing in public WLANs and hot spots, for instance in Internet cafés. Steganos Secure VPN protects your data traffic from being eavesdropped.
  •   Highspeed connection based on the latest VPN technology
You can surf without losing any time thanks to the latest VPN technology.
  •  Fourfold Safe Size
Each safe now holds up to 256 GB! Create any number of secure drives.
  • Steganos PicPass
Use images as passwords! Memorize a sequence of images to open your safe.
  •  Outlook Safe
Protect e-mails, calendar entries and Outlook tasks in the safe. This protects your Outlook data when you lose your PC.
  •  USB stick as key
Open your safe without a password – simply by USB stick, iPod, ActiveSync-enabled SmartPhone, PDA, memory card or digital camera.
  •  Steganos Portable Safe
Simply take your encrypted data with you: On CD and DVD or even rewriteable on USB sticks and iPods.
  •  Steganos Shredder
Secure deletions with deep cleaning for the entire hard drive.
  •  256 Bit AES
Real-time protection by the world’s most advanced encryption algorithm
  •  Password Manager
Have your passwords always with you - of course encrypted. If desired, also on your Pocket PC. Including synchronization tool for your computer: This way, new and updated passwords are automatically transferred to your Pocket-PC.
  •  AntiTheft Protection
In case your laptop gets stolen, Steganos AntiTheft can provide you with information that may serve to recuperate your computer.

I’ll keep you informed as to my success or otherwise with this software, but as it is by the same software house that released the superb Steganos LockNote, I am willing to bet (and I’m not a gambling man) that it will more than meet my requirements.

You can read some reviews about it and also see some screenshots to marvel over.
