Goospace anyone?

Well, the news we were all waiting for but didn’t expect to be so big… Google has MySpace have linked arms to fight the evil Facebook empire (more on the evil empire FB in the next post).

What is interesting is the list of other partners: Engage.com, Friendster, hi5, Hyves, imeem, LinkedIn, Ning, Oracle, orkut, Plaxo, Salesforce.com, Six Apart (owners of Typepad, LiveJournal, MovableType, and Vox), Tianji, Viadeo, and XING.

These are all forces to be reckoned with in the Social Media world.

Hitwise has an interesting graph comparing the new Goospace (a great name invented by Nick Schmidt) with Facebook:
