Since I had the good fortune to be in Sydney for a client presentation recently, I caught up with Trevor Cook, a fellow PR blogger and co-author of our exceptionally popular White Paper.

Trevor is the most genial of gentlemen and we dined at the infamous B.B.Q. King in Goulburn St, which is apparently famous for being “the place that Sydney’s top chefs go after work” for a good meal, a few beers and a great time.

We discussed and dissected ’social media’ (of course) and devoured a massive amount of Peking Duck. A couple of beers allegedly passed our lips, too.

We sorted out some exciting new developments for the Feb2007 launch of version 2.0 of our White Paper (and we think you’ll be excited too!) and reflected on the paltry state of PR bloggers in Australia. Without being overly smug, Trevor and I are probably the two most well-known PR/Marcomms bloggers in Australia which is a fantastic reflection of Trevor’s leadership in our arena (he’s been blogging since Nov 2003). Add to the mix the soon-to-move-overseas Paull Young and the Aussie PR/Marcomms space is a bit light on for ‘celebrities’.

So thanks, Trevor, for taking a few hours away from the family after work to dine with me and for being so knowledgeable and witty. Here’s to our paths crossing again — perhaps at an Australian Blogger UnCon…

Wow, 99% of the best Aussie thinking on social media, gathered around one table and fueled by the treasures of the orient… to be a fly on the wall…

…as distinct from a fly in the noodles [grin]
