It’s been a busy time at BetterComms Towers…
Not only have I had a dastardly cold to contend with, including losing my voice (Mrs BetterComms and the Commettes were especially delighted), but also a hectic schedule of two client projects to finalise at the same time.
Thankfully, I’ve been finding mental escape and relaxation by interviewing some more fine communicators for Ross Monaghan’s PR/Journalism students over at theMediaPod.net.
Already Ross has posted up interviews I’ve conducted with Donna PepsiCola and Allan Jenkins, and coming up shortly will be interviews with the following equally luminous luminaries:
- Peter Vogt — former Head of Internal Communications Worldwide at Microsoft, now Director of Internal Communications at eBay;
- Catriona Byrne — ‘big cheese’ of the internal comms team for the Sydney Olympics, now a Director at SageCo;
- Amy Gooen — Manager of Global Internal Communications at VeriSign;
- Meryl David — Internal Communication Manager, Zurich Financial Services;
- Joseph Thornley — CEO, Thornley Fallis Group; and
- Steve Crescenzo — “the internal communicator’s communicator”
…and another couple of very well-known folk 
Also, I recently interviewed my local MP, Isobel Redmond, on how she communicates with her constituency of 1100 square kilometres and 20 diverse communities. A fascinating insight into the life of a very busy politician.
Once Ross has posted them up I’ll let you know (of course, you’d also be wise to subscribe to Ross’ site, because he has some fascinating podcasts — two recent interviews with the Victorian Police force, as well as reports on flu and on animal experimentation attest to that).
