Malcolm and Catherine receive yet another phone call congratulating them on their blog

“This is amazing!”

One of my clients, Malcolm Robinson of Bower Place Psychology & Counselling, recently disappeared off the face of the earth. We were in the initial phase of a large web2.0 marketing and positioning campaign when all of a sudden my phone calls and emails to him were unanswered.

Worried, I kept trying to contact him. For over a week.

Malcolm finally rang me back this morning.

“Sorry, mate,” he said. “I’ve been absolutely swamped!”

It turns out that his blog has gone ‘buunnta’ as we say around these here parts.

Let me give you two examples:

  • Normally the free seminars he puts on at his practice have a desultory attendance. Now they are fully booked out and people are asking for more.
  • Normally he finds it challenging to fill his paid-for workshops; they are now fully booked and could easily be oversubscribed.

All this because of the blog we set up.

“You have to remember that people in my profession are largely luddites, so they have been emailing me asking me to subscribe them to the blog; the take-up rate is astounding for my profession.

“But what’s even more exciting is the overwhelming positive response I’ve had to this from my peers. They are genuinely excited about what we’ve set up. I’m getting emails from all over the country congratulating me on this, and more importantly wanting to attend courses and discuss opportunities to work together. I’m getting over a dozen emails a day that are business related and directly attributable to the blog.”

We’ve had to put stage two of our plan on temporary hold while he sorts out a process for dealing with all of these enquiries and requests for his time and energy. But soon we will integrate his website and blog, and then introduce other initiatives.

All very exciting stuff, and it is so pleasing to be a part of the explosive interest in his business. And his colleagues “ain’t seen nothing yet!”
