searchterms.jpgI am at a loss to explain why ‘tuna casserole’ should figure so highly in a list of search terms folks have used to find my blog. It’s number two of the search terms used in the last month!

Bizarre.

But it seems that images of Sven are indeed in hot demand.

If you have used ‘tuna casserole’ to find me, can you please and let me know ‘why’??

There are many things I think of when I think of you….tuna isn’t one of them!

    New ‘House’ tonight!

  2. Lee Says:

ha ha ha!! I’ll take it as a compliment :-)

We have ‘House’ tonight, too — not sure if it’s a new one yet, but I can’t wait to get to that episode where House can cure X but he can’t do anything about her being a bitch! :-)

[...] Lee, it’s simple.  You have one of the most popular blogs on earth that mentions one of the most popular dishes in North America.  The very fact that you mentioned tuna casserole once (now twice) on your blog means you will get lots of clicks from people who are actually looking for a recipe that will remind them of their midwestern (U.S.) parents. Shows what happens when you scan read to quickly… I first thought Max had said I would get lots of chicks :-)

Anyone got a good tuna casserole recipe I can borrow to increase this blog’s reach?

  5. Ben Hamilton Says:

Max Hansen has it right, you’ve mentioned ‘tuna casserole’ once (not counting this post).

It was your post about the Four Things meme.

Posting a good recipe will likely help your ‘clicks’ not sure if it will help with ‘chicks’ tho :-).

ha ha ha!! oh well, back to the drawing board… :-)

I am a terrible cook, but chicken (not chicks) noodle casserole is one of two meals that I can actually cook.

I just Googled “chicken noodle casserole” and you were nowhere to be found in the top 50 results, Lee. Must be the tuna :)

Well done with Sandra checking in at No. 4, though!

Bryan, the current top search phrase for the last 24 hours is ‘age of Sandra Sully’. Let’s hope this blog doesn’t end up being known as a shrine to Ms Sully.

But for the record, here’s my TOP SECRET tuna casserole recipe.

Please treat the recipe with all due respect and once you have read it, please set fire to yourself.

    =====================

One large can tuna flakes (in either spring water or brine, take your choice)

    One can sweetcorn

One can Campbells Cream of Chicken or Cream of Mushroom soup, whichever addition takes your fancy

One-third of a bottle of good reisling or savignon semillion blanc

One kilo of cheddar cheese - grated

Mix all ingredients except the cheese into a bowl, stir, and leave to settle, tasting remaining two-thirds of white wine to suit

Cook up enough pasta shells to feed small army.

Once cooked, drain and mix into bowl of other ingredients.

Stir liberally. Taste white wine from bottle to ensure it has not oxydised.

Add all ingredients into pyrex dish/bowl, cover with one kilo of grated cheddar cheese.

Add to preheated oven (180C) and leave to cook until cheese melteth over and gently browns.

Taste wine again in case of further oxydisation.

Remove dish/bowl from oven when cooked, place on heatproof top and leave overnight, because by now you have drunk the remainder of the white wine, are onto your second bottle and far too stuffed to eat anything.

[...] Despite my remonstrations to the opposite, it turns out that ‘tuna casserole’ is STILL the second most popular search term by which people are brought to this blog. [...]

[...] Right now, it looks like Lee is having a problem with one of the search terms that has managed to move up to the #1 position on his site. The phrase “tuna casserole recipe” has become his number one searched term, and he seems to have no idea why. While he only mentioned the term “tuna casserole” once in a meme that he couldn’t avoid, he’s at a loss to explain how it got so high on the “searched term” list. By the way, if you’re looking for a great tuna casserole recipe mashed up with a pretty good drinking game, take a look at the eighth comment at that link. [Max is right, by the way] [...]
