The little applet for calculating your blog’s worth, based on the AOL-Weblogs deal, got me thinking about how much not only my blog is worth, but how much friends’ and colleagues’ blogs are worth as well.
As reported earlier, my blog is currently worth $11,855.34.
My man Jenkins’ is worth $46,856.82
Neville Hobson: $176,701.02
Shel Holtz: $127,021.50
Heidi Miller: $4,516.32
Donna Papacosta: $7,903.56
Seth Godin: $1,286,586.66
Dan York: $6,774.48
FIR: $0
Scoble: $2,067,345.48
Steve Ruble: $1,123,999.14
Josh Hallett: $112,343.46
BL Ochman: $313,319.70
Amy Gahran’s Contentious: $261,946.56
Kathy Sierra: $0
At which point I stopped in disgust — because Kathy Sierra’s blog is utterly invaluable and priceless as far as I am concerned.

I suppose I should feel kinda small-potatoes, but then, the TypePad blog *is* only a few months old. I’m sure I’ll be worth millions in, oh, say, a few months?

It’s a cute little applet, but you have pointed out why it’s useless, just cute.
I mean, why on earth is FIR, which has pretty much become the joint H&H site (come on, boys, don’t hold back…when’s the date?!), given an $0? And Kathy, as you say, is a hell of a read.
And there are a couple of PR people on that list who are wildly overpriced if we are to judge by content. But, Manhattan has always been wildly overpriced.
