MegaphoneI had the opportunity to meet up with a couple of my IABC colleagues on Thursday evening.

Catriona Byrne, Stuart Symons and I met up for a drink and an introduction at a local bar and a great time was had by all.

Unfortunately, another colleague, Stephen Marlow, wasn’t able to be there due to last-minute deadline commitments.

Over our drinks we decided that forming a full IABC Chapter was far too much like hard work, so instead opted to meet once a month, share ideas and develop our network informally.

As both Catriona and I have contacts in the State Government we will be attempting to contact other communicators in Adelaide — PR folks, Government and private communicators, and marketing folks — to see if they are willing to join in our monthly meets.

If you are reading this, are involved in Comms in Adelaide and are interested in meeting up, please drop me a line — lee at leehopkins dot net – or leave a comment on this post.

Please realise that it is a meet up where you bring your social skills, not your sales skills; a chance to relax amongst like-minded souls, not hustle for business.

Look forward to hearing from you
